About Laurel House

Formerly an annex of the prestigious Grand Hotel, Laurel House now offers high quality, independently owned, rooms by the sea. We can be found on Longsands beach in beautiful Tynemouth, the Northeast's hidden coastal gem.

A 5-minute walk from Tynemouth village centre with its beautiful traditional Front Street, independent boutiques, coffee shops and an array of bars and eateries.

Your room will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival, and we would ask if you can vacate it by 11am on your day of departure so that our housekeepers can prepare the rooms for the next guests.

 

Smart locks

Laurel House uses smart locks through a mobile app to enable guests to access the property and will allow you to access to your room between 4pm on your day or arrival and 11am on the day of your departure. The access to the main door of the Laurel house extends to 6pm on the day of departure. 

 

Parking

Parking in Tynemouth can be a bit of an art form, we have limited space at Laurel House itself but there are numerous paid for parking options available nearby. 

Please don’t park in the Grand Hotel’s car park, as they use that for their guests. Most residential areas are permit only so check for this before leaving your car!

 

Cancellations

We offer free cancellation up to 7 days prior to your stay. Any cancellations within 7 days of the stay will be charged at the full rate.
